Novatek rents Gazprom’s rig for drilling at Arctic LNG-3
MOSCOW, Oct 31 (PRIME) -- Liquefied natural gas (LNG) producer Arctic LNG-3, a subsidiary of independent producer Novatek, has rented the Amazon jack-up floating drilling rig from Gazprom Flot, a unit of gas giant Gazprom, to drill an exploratory and appraisal well at the Severo-Obsky site, as seen by PRIME on Tuesday in materials of the company.
Currently, Arctic LNG-3 is looking for a contractor to tow the rig from the port of Yamburg to the site and back.
In October 2014, the Russian government allowed Arctic LNG-1, Arctic LNG-2, and Arctic LNG-3 –affiliates of Novatek that own licenses for sites on the Gydan Peninsula in the Yamalo–Nenets Autonomous District – to export LNG.
